Large Southwestern Hand Coiled Basket 15" (a63)

This is a southwest Indian "style" hand woven basket. The Native American technique of basket making, using the coil method, is generations old. Handed down from each passing generation the art is preserved. The Hopi pueblo Indians were famous for baskets woven in this fashion that were so tight that they could hold water.

Native American style baskets are popular for southwestern decorating as well as western decor. These traditional baskets are made by hand, artfully woven to form unique patterns using palm leaves and southwestern designs. Handwoven baskets are great for cabin, lodge or log home or for your special rustic or Native American room.
