20" Shaman Drum -Single Sided Native Hand Drum
This 20" one sided drum is for serious drumming and will provide the deepest and strongest sound of the shaman style drums. Along with our 16" hoop drum this is among the most popular for personal drumming. The difference being that this hoop drum is more often used by men because of the length of the reach around the drum. It too is played by holding the drum lacing on the back.
Native American style shaman drums of the famous Tarahumara Indians are fashioned by hand. The Tarahumara are said to be North Americas most primitive people, inhabiting caves and cliff dwellings. Native American drums can be heard drifting throughout mountain villages for miles on a clear night.
This single sided hand drum is laced on the back in the pattern of the four directions of American Indian tradition to form a handhold for drumming. Made by the Tarahumara Indians, this drum has a thin bent wood hoop and natural goat skin rawhide cover for light weight and excellent sound quality. Measures 20" diameter, simple drum beater included.
