Southwestern Indian Pottery Lamps

indian pottery lampsThese unique Tarahumara Indian pottery lamps are fabulous for southwestern or western lamps and decorating. Perfect as a desk or table lamp for southwest lighting, it is made by hand from authentic Tarahumara Indian clay pottery. These coiled clay lamps come from deep within the Sierra Madre and are also a perfect accent for western lighting or decor. Decorated with real rawhide, the result is a charming, one-of-a-kind rustic lamp. The unique tri-pod base is fashioned from pine branches, wrought iron and rawhide lace.

Testimonial: "I've included a picture of your beautiful lamps to show you how nice they look in our bedroom. They're perfect! Sincerely, tm.

Southwest style pottery lamps made with Tarahumara Indian pottery is artfully created by the age-old coil and pinch method. Rolls of natural clay are painstakingly coiled to form the shape of the vessel and polished with a smooth piece of wood. The Firing takes place in an open pit fire adding additional character through colorization changes. Some pieces will even have scorch marks from the fire as seen in the natural orange terra cotta while others are stained a rich rustic brown.
