These coiled clay lamps come from deep within the Sierra Madre and are also a perfect accent for western lighting or decor. Decorated with real rawhide, the result is a charming, one-of-a-kind rustic lamp. The unique tri-pod base is fashioned from pine branches, wrought iron and rawhide lace. The lamp's geniune rawhide shade is also hand stretched and stitched with matching leather. It was created by stretching premium rawhide around a sturdy welded frame. The skilled mountain people have years of experience and carefully trim and lace the shade. The hand stitching adds a sense of rustic beauty and when the lamp is turned on, the shade’s translucent character comes to life. Rolls of natural clay are painstakingly coiled to form the shape of the vessel and polished with a smooth piece of wood. The Firing takes place in an open pit fire adding additional character through colorization changes.
