Old Style Hand Carved Baguette Log Bowl 40" (b86)

This is a rustic stained wooden baguette bowl made by the Tarahumara Indians. Wooden Indian bowls are carved by hand from solid wood and begin as a piece of a downed tree trunk.  Log bowls are made by splitting the trunk in half lengthwise then rough cut with an axe. The carved wooden dough bowls are shaped and further worked with a machete or large knife.

The rustic character of primitive unfinished wooden bowls adds a sense of rustic beauty to create a natural atmosphere for southwest style, cabins or cottages and well and ranch or country style and western decor.
