Description

This is an authentic Native American traditional hand coiled clay pottery wedding vase. This hand made Navajo wedding vase has a beautiful smooth finish.

The wedding vase has always been a prized posession and symbol of good fortune for an American Indian couple. The parents of the couple would get together and make a special wedding vase for the couple to be married. It was to be a symbol of their marriage that they would keep the rest of their lives. During the ceremony the wedding vase was presented to the couple as a symbol of the promise of their deep love and happiness. The Indian Brave and Maiden would both drink from the wedding vase using the two spouts to seal their promise to each other.

Wedding vases are made in many shapes, sizes, colors and textures. They have become a symbol of happiness that continues today. Wedding vases are great for collectors and perfect for southwest decorating, a western home accessory or a special wedding gift.
