These stunning ancient shells are genuine fossilized ammonites, sliced in half to reveal the crystalized internal chambers.
Fossilized ammonites are most commonly traced back to the lower Jurassic and Cretaceous time period, when the ancient oceans were teeming with cephalopod life forms, now extinct. Once a living organism, these ammonites were turned to stone through petrification, a process that replaces organic matter into sediment and minerals over millions of years.
These fossilized ammonites are perfect to display on any office desk or bookshelf, and will also make great gifts.
Measures between 7/8" - 1-1/8". Ammonites are natural and formed over time, each is unique.
