Ancient Carved Fossil Shell Zuni Fetish -Bear (f31)

This is an authentic Native American Zuni fetish. Intricately hand carved by a Zuni stone carver, this fetish comes directly from the artist in Zuni Pueblo. This is a very special fetish bear, hand carved from an ancient fossilized shell called Amber Anconite from the Island of Madagascar. In the center of the fetish you can see the spiral of the center of the shell. Famous around the world for their animal fetishes, the Zuni Tribe creates these beautiful stone fetishes in a variety of stone including turquoise, pipe stone and onyx, many with additional inlaid colors or etchings. Each fetish is unique as created by the carver with great attention to detail. Measures 2-1/2" long, 2" tall, actual fetish is shown.
