Horse Hair Wedding Vase 9"-Four Corners (3bc152)
This wedding vase is a high quality piece of authentic Native American, Navajo pottery. This unique piece of Navajo horse hair pottery uses real horse hair during the firing process to decorate the rustic vase. The artist throws the pieces of horse hair onto the pottery at just the right time to cause it to stick and melt into the piece.
This causes a permanent application of the horse hair to the pot and yields the famous look that everyone loves. Each piece is unique, no two are alike. The wedding vase is a very special part of American Indian culture. The parents of a couple to be married will make or purchase a wedding vase for the couple. The vase will be used during the ceremony and then kept for the rest of their lives as a symbol of the love and unity.
This piece is called a Four Corners style because o the four square sides and the proximity to "The Four Corners" where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado make a perfect four corner intersection. Navajo pottery is perfect for any southwest style, western décor or cabin. It also makes a great special gift. Actual wedding vase is shown, measures approximately 9" tall, 5" wide.
