Description

This basket was made by the tarahumara Indians in the Copper Canyon region of northern Mexico using the fibers from the indigenous yucca plant. The Tarahumara are called the most primitive people in North America by National Geographic. This Native technique of basket making is generations old. Handed down from each passing generation the art is preserved.

Native American baskets are popular for southwestern decorating as well as western decor. These traditional sotol baskets are made by hand and artfully woven. Handwoven baskets are great for cabin, lodge or log home or for your special rustic or Native American room.
