Product Description

This is a hand painted rustic bowl featuring a dream catcher web. This is a unique one-of-a-kind piece. Southwestern wooden dough bowls and rawhide laced western bowls are authentic Native American bowls made by the Tarahumara Indians. Wooden Indian dough bowls or trenchers are carved by hand from native yellow pine and begin as a piece of a downed tree trunk, split in half lengthwise then rough cut with an axe.

Dough bowls are still used by the primitive Tarahumara Indian people but are sold for decoration. Bowls or dough trays are used to catch corn meal as it is ground with a stone. The rustic character of primitive unfinished bowls, stained dough bowls and rawhide laced bowls add a sense of rustic beauty to create a natural atmosphere for southwest style, western decor, cabins and Native American decor.  Measures approximately 30" long, actual bowl is shown.

Native Handcraft - Tribe: Tarahumara
