Huge Indian Wooden Dough Tray (43" Long)This huge wooden dough bowl is very rare because of it's length. (43" long x 10" wide x 6" deep) Many people ask for these large bowls and they are difficult to find. Each bowl is unique, actual bowl is shown.Made by the Tarahumara Indians, they are carved by hand from native yellow pine and begin as a piece of a downed tree trunk. The trunk is split in half lengthwise then carved with an axe to form the shape of the bowl and further worked with a machete or large knife. Condition, this very large traditional dough bowl has a round bottom and is unfinished with a very rough chiseled surface. This bowl has not been sanded and is very rustic. It is twisted so that it is not the same height all around and has hair line cracks typical for this type of trencher bowl. We only have one bowl this size. Once sold this listing will be discontinued, order quickly. |
